FinCEN has updated a previously released Advisory on Ransomware and the Use of the Financial System to Facilitate Ransom Payments due to an increase of ransomware attacks in recent months.

The updated advisory identifies new trends and typologies of ransomware and associated payments, including growing proliferation of anonymity-enhanced cryptocurrencies and decentralized mixers.

CCI suggests sharing this advisory with your BSA/AML and Information Security personnel.
