On September 9, 2026, OFAC updated several Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and added two new FAQs related to the licensing process. The changes are primarily housekeeping and clarification updates covering OFAC resources, licensing guidance, and sanctions name-match reviews. The new FAQs provide guidance on tracking license applications and requesting amendments or renewals of existing OFAC licenses.

While these updates do not create new sanctions compliance requirements, they serve as a good reminder for financial institutions to ensure sanctions screening procedures, name-match review processes, and OFAC compliance controls remain current and are being followed consistently.
