On February 13, 2026, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes
Enforcement Network (FinCEN) launched a new webpage to receive
whistleblower tips related to fraud, money laundering, sanctions violations,
and other related misconduct. The site allows individuals to submit
information confidentially and directly to FinCEN’s Office of the Whistleblower.

A monetary award may be available if a whistleblower’s original information
leads to a successful enforcement action resulting in monetary penalties
exceeding $1 million, under 31 U.S.C. § 5323.

How Will it Work?

  • FinCEN plans to publish regulations to fully implement 31 U.S.C. § 5323,
as amended by the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020 and the Anti
Money Laundering Whistleblower Improvement Act of 2022. Once
finalized, FinCEN will begin processing and paying awards.
  • FinCEN encourages prompt submission of detailed facts and supporting
documentation. Submissions may be made confidentially.
  • This whistleblower channel does not replace or affect existing Suspicious
Activity Report (SAR) obligations under the BSA.

For additional information, you can access the FinCEN Whistleblower
Program Webpage.
