In May, the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System put out a helpful document called Cybersecurity Resources for Community Banks. Whether the Fed examines you or not, the document provides some helpful links to reference for ideas to strengthen your institution’s cybersecurity posture. With the August 31, 2025, sunset date of the FFIEC Cybersecurity Assessment Tool (CAT), it’s useful to note that the document lists four examples of different cybersecurity self-assessment tools that institutions can choose from as potential replacements for the CAT.
You can view that document here.
The resources from the list, and additional IT resources, are also always available on our website under the Information Security Officer drop-down, which can be found here.
